Upon successful completion of The Align Your Light Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Program you will be certified by Align Your Light Institute. Will I be a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor Upon Completion of this Program?

This Teacher Training with Align Your Light Institute is not currently registered with Yoga Alliance. Though we work closely together with students both one-on-one and in our unique online community in this course for over 200 hours, Yoga Alliance has informed us that according to their interpretation of “contact” hours, working online does not qualify for “contact” hours. We greatly, but humbly disagree.

But...rules and rules, and thus, in accordance with their requirements, this program is in the process of becoming a certified Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Course for the in-person/hybrid versions. Those who complete this course will be offered the opportunity earn their CECs once accreditation is achieved at no additional cost. Students in this course will receive updates regularly on this as they are available.

In an effort to quell common concerns over this, this online program has been developed specifically to far exceed the standards of a 200 hour Yoga Alliance training. Here’s how:

  • Personalized guidance, review, and feedback of coursework and assignments throughout the course
  • Rigorous testing standards including video uploads of teaching technique
  • ALL educators are 500++ hours trained in The Kaivalya Yoga Method and complementary techniques
  • Classes, training and consultation available around the clock, and for review as many times as necessary
  • Extensive body of knowledge covering all aspects of yoga & teaching technique that is viewable again and again at your convenience including:
  • 35+ hours of training in anatomy for yoga: an essential body of knowledge for all teachers
    • Safe and effective hands-on adjustments techniques
    • Principles of bhakti (devotional) yoga
    • Extensive sequencing skills based on body mechanics and principles
    • Feedback and review of your teaching practice throughout the course
    • Business skills and insider insights into how to land jobs, market, start teaching private and public classes, opening your own studio, and tailor teaching to specific demographics such as beginners and prenatal clients
    • Instruction on traditional, and global yogic principles and methods

None of these are required by Yoga Alliance, nor are they common among other teacher training. Times have changed as technology has allowed massive advancement and opportunities for individuals who otherwise would not have access to programs, such as this. While those on the "front-lines" such as aerial yoga instructors and yoga teachers see the value and amazing abilities they have the opportunity to develop through online formats, accreditation bodies such as the Yoga Alliance take a considerable amount of time to "catch up." Why? Online hours, at this time, are difficult to prove. Because contact hours are required (meaning the instructor teaches face to face and can attest to your time in-seat), online time is very difficult to prove. While developers at the Align Your Light Institute work hard to research new pieces of technology to help meet this requirement, it takes much more time for agencies such as the Yoga Alliance to make revisions/adaptations that address the online vs. contact hour gap as research and case studies, as well as pilots and testing must be conducted to ensure online hours accurately reflect equivalent contact-hours. We will keep the dialogue with Yoga Alliance open in an attempt to work with them, however your path to becoming an epic yoga teacher will not be affected by their decision. It is important to be clear that a Yoga Alliance credential or designation is NOT required to teach or train in aerial yoga, nor is it even required to obtain insurance, build a studio, etc. Rest assured that the program you are committing provides you with equally as in-depth material, in-fact, even MORE so, than those with the Yoga Alliance designation.

Yoga Alliance is a registration body, similar to that of a trade organization. They do not certify teachers, nor do they test or require anyone to meet any of the standards they set. Because we recognize certification is important to you, we have created the Align Your Light Institute / PyloCore Aerial Yoga Method certification program. Completion of this course certifies you by Align Your Light Institute and as a PyloCore Yoga Method Instructor.

Your registration fee is included with the cost of this training, and you will never be charged a yearly renewal fee. We are creating a website to feature your bio, teaching schedule, and contact information so the world can see that you’ve met our rigorous testing standards and demonstrated your ability to lead stellar classes for a wide variety of students. This is our sincere and grateful attempt at highlighting our approved teachers and providing you the chance to shine within our powerful network of teachers and students.

Together, we will show the yoga world the power of online education and the spirit, heart, and strength of the community that binds us.

Do you offer in-person training?

In-person training are available. Typically, these are done for groups wishing to complete a full scale immersion training over a 3-4 day period. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the training and students are also provided with the opportunity to obtain professional headshots/pose shot at no additional cost. Cost depends on the size of the group and the distance needed to travel, but participants can expect fees to be similar or less than the online program.
